    Medical Skin Care

The condition of your skin is an essential piece of your overall appearance, and keeping it healthy is as important as the rest of your body.

With so many issues that occur over time with skin, it’s crucial to have a dedicated medical provider you can trust and feel comfortable coming to with concerns, issues, or general questions.

Whether it’s examining a suspicious skin lesion, an existing breakout of acne or treating a more serious condition such as the removal of a cancerous mole, we have the experience and expertise to get your skin back to the healthiest it can be. Upstate Dermatology offers MelaFind, a state-of-the-art medical technology used during a skin exam or mole check-up. This equipment allows for our medical providers to see under the skin’s surface to determine how irregular the growth pattern of your mole is under the skin.

By examining your skin, Upstate Dermatology will work with you to determine the best course of treatment to eliminate or reduce any signs of skin cancer as well as the appearance of wrinkles, blemishes, and any effects of aging that might be keeping you from looking and feeling your best.

We work with patients of all ages, providing dermatology and skin surgery treatments for acne vulgaris, all types of acne scars, first signs of skin cancer and more. Our resident Mohs Surgeon, Dr. Gregory, is a member of the American Society of Mohs Surgery, and is also on hand to provide the Mohs procedure in our high-tech Mohs facility.

Have a suspicious mole that you think could be cancerous? Download the American Academy of Dermatology’s body mole map, also known as the “ABCDE’s of Melanoma”, to keep track of your own self-examinations.

For psoriasis sufferers, there’s no known cure in the medical field, however there are treatments that can manage its symptoms and clear its visible signs. One of the most effective is the XTRACT light treatment, the only FDA-cleared excimer laser clinically proven to slow and reverse the growth of psoriatic cells, allowing you to live clearer for longer.

We invite you to browse throughout our website to research, learn and inquire about the many treatments we have to offer. Our staff is always available to answer any questions you might have or to arrange for an office visit where your condition can be examined in a private and fully professional manner. We can give you the confidence you’ve lost, and bring your skin back to its healthiest form.
